This series sees life at Hawx United Academy turned upside down as a documentary crew films behind the scenes, with comedian Matt Lucas providing voiceover. The team must adapt to a new American coach and her divisive methods, while facing the possibility they won't qualify for a global youth tournament.

Executive Producer Sam Talbot said the series felt particularly personal as a dad, reflecting the ambition, pressure and identity young people navigate. Sarah Muller, Senior Head of Commissioning for 7+ at BBC Children’s and Education, said children's television plays a vital role in reflecting young people's realities with warmth and optimism.
