Sharon Osbourne Severed from Charity Over Tommy Robinson Rally Support

Homelessness charity Centrepoint has officially announced it has "no plans to work together in the future" with Sharon Osbourne, following the television personality's public endorsement of a rally organised by far-right activist Tommy Robinson.

Instagram Comment Sparks Controversy

The former X Factor judge used her official Instagram account to comment "See you at the march" beneath a post promoting the demonstration scheduled for next month. This public show of support for the Unite the Kingdom rally has led to immediate consequences from the charity she previously supported.

Centrepoint's Firm Response

A Centrepoint spokesperson clarified the nature of Osbourne's previous involvement: "Sharon supported us on this campaign and, while she is referred to as an ambassador in that context, she was not an official ambassador for Centrepoint."

The spokesperson continued with a strong statement: "We have no plans to work together in the future. Political activity like this runs counter to our values and our long history of supporting young people regardless of their background, religion or ethnicity."

Charity's Core Mission at Stake

Centrepoint emphasized their commitment to creating an inclusive society: "If we want young people to thrive in this country, then we need to ensure our society continues to allow them to live without fear and to access the opportunities they need to start education or work and leave homelessness behind."

Background of the Rally

The Unite the Kingdom rally is scheduled to take place in London on May 16, spearheaded by right-wing activist Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon. The previous demonstration held in September drew substantial crowds estimated between 110,000 and 150,000 participants.

Osbourne's Previous Charity Involvement

Sharon Osbourne, the widow of Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne who passed away last July at age 76, had previously lent her support to Centrepoint through its Omaze fundraising initiative. This campaign offered members of the public the chance to win a luxury property while supporting the charity's mission.

The charity's decision to distance itself from Osbourne represents a clear stance against political activities they believe contradict their fundamental values of inclusivity and support for vulnerable young people from all backgrounds.
