Trump Rejects Iran's Ceasefire Proposal as Unacceptable

Donald Trump has rejected Iran’s latest ceasefire proposal as "TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!" in a sharp diplomatic setback, offering no further details on the reasons behind his dismissal. The proposal, conveyed via Pakistani mediators, reportedly sought a permanent end to hostilities, including in Lebanon, and guaranteed shipping security. This contrasts with Washington's previous offer to end the war and roll back Iran's nuclear programme.

Trump's Strong Rhetoric

In a post on Truth Social, the US President shared: "I have just read the response from Iran’s so-called ‘Representatives.’ I don’t like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! Thank you for your attention to this matter." Despite the strong rhetoric accusing Tehran of "playing games," the US ambassador to the UN, Mike Waltz, stated that diplomacy is being given "every chance."

Iran's Response

Iran’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, reportedly issued "new and decisive directives for the continuation of operations" during a meeting with the head of the joint military command. The situation remains tense as the US and Iran continue their war, with Trump insisting the ceasefire is still on after Iran "trifled with us."
