President Donald Trump says he is meeting with aides in the White House Situation Room “to make a final determination” on whether to accept a proposed agreement to end the war with Iran and reopen the Strait of Hormuz to global maritime traffic.
Key Details of the Proposed Deal
Writing on Truth Social, Trump stated that the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports would be lifted, and Iran would “complete the immediate removal and/or detonation of any mines” in the strategic waterway. This would allow the strait to be “immediately open, no tolls, for unrestricted shipping traffic,” enabling hundreds of trapped ships to “start the process of ‘heading home!’”
Trump's Message to Crews
The president added: “Say HELLO to your wives, husbands, parents, and families from me, your favorite President.”
Uranium Removal and Financial Terms
Trump also claimed that Iran’s enriched uranium would be extracted from collapsed bunkers, removed from Iranian territory, and “destroyed” with assistance from the International Atomic Energy Agency. He stressed that “no money will be exchanged” between Washington and Tehran “until further notice,” adding that “other items, of far less importance, have been agreed to.”
