Trump’s Surgeon General Pick Deletes Critical Posts

Dr Nicole Saphier, President Donald Trump’s third nominee for surgeon general, has been deleting old social media posts critical of his administration, according to CNN. The Fox News medical contributor and author of Make America Healthy Again was nominated after Dr Janette Nesheiwat and Dr Casey Means withdrew due to lack of congressional support.

Despite her MAGA leanings, Saphier posted messages questioning Trump’s policies on autism and vaccines in 2025. She also publicly doubted the president’s reassurances about his own health. Saphier has made her X account private, but deleted posts remain viewable via the Wayback Machine.

In one post from last June, she called a public feud between Trump and Elon Musk “petty, loud and obnoxious,” comparing it to “watching two billionaires throw sand in a sandbox.” In September, she criticised Trump’s warning against pregnant women taking Tylenol, writing: “As a mom of 3 kids, I don’t love a man telling me to ‘tough it out’ when it comes to pregnancy.”

When Trump reiterated his claims in October, Saphier demanded transparency on data behind his statements. She also questioned his undisclosed MRI scan, posting: “Lots of people questioning POTUS MRI – I have questions too.” In March, she criticised Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, saying the CDC vaccine schedule was “in limbo” and that “the pendulum swung too far.”

White House spokesman Kush Desai defended Saphier, calling her “an accomplished physician” who will be “a powerful asset for President Trump” and work on his MAHA agenda.
