Unusual Fetish Addiction Spirals Into Financial Crisis for American Man
An American man has publicly disclosed how his long-standing and unusual fetish for purchasing strangers' saliva has plunged him into serious financial debt, leading him to seek professional help for what he describes as a compulsive addiction.
Monthly Habit Costs Hundreds, Leads to Bank Loans
The man, who spoke anonymously on the Other People's Lives YouTube channel, revealed he spends approximately £150 each month buying bottled spit online to satisfy what he calls his "fantasy and fetish of being swallowed." He traced the origins of this unusual interest back to teenage pornography addiction that gradually expanded into "other avenues," including a specific fascination with male saliva.
"It can run me a couple of hundred [dollars] a month," he admitted during the interview, equating to roughly £148. The financial burden became so substantial that he resorted to taking out bank loans to sustain his habit, with online sellers charging as much as $150 (£110) per bottle of saliva.
Purchasing Patterns and Debt Accumulation
Describing his purchasing behavior, the man explained how sellers typically package the saliva in small vials, with prices varying significantly between suppliers. "Some people spend like maybe 25 or 35 for two. But there's some people that charge 50 to 100, I think the most I've paid is like 150," he revealed.
His debt problems escalated due to impulsive buying patterns driven by boredom. "I'd get bored waiting for somebody to answer me and then I'll message somebody else and then they all respond at once," he explained. "And instead of telling one person 'No' and telling one person 'Yes', I just tell them all 'Yes.'"
How the Spit Is Used and Additional Purchases
When questioned about how he utilizes the purchased saliva, the man described applying it to enhance his consumption of fetish-related content. "I either put a little on a mask or put a little bit on my face just to feel like what's happening in the story is what's actually happening," he said. "It gives me something to hone into and it makes reading a story a bit more interesting."
He occasionally drinks the saliva, though less frequently due to health concerns. "Sometimes it freaks me out, you don't always know who you can trust, so you don't know what other people have and stuff like that," he admitted.
Beyond saliva, the man also purchases other items including underwear and socks, which he claims amplify both his experience and the "thrill" of spending money.
Seeking Help Amid Limited Support Services
The podcast guest shared that he is now actively attempting to overcome his addiction with professional assistance, though he noted that support for individuals struggling with sex addiction remains scarce in his area. "I'm actively trying to [stop], I've gone to a couple of hospitals to try and get help," he outlined. "Where I am [though], there's not a lot of places to get help for that type of addiction."
After studying other forms of dependency and applying comparable methods to his own circumstances, he reported some progress. "I'm getting better, I've definitely noticed a change," he noted optimistically.
Financial Recovery and Future Outlook
Regarding his substantial debt accumulated through years of sustaining this unusual habit, the man acknowledged he is "still trying to pay [his debt] off" but believes he is now heading in the right direction both financially and in terms of managing his compulsive behaviors.
This case highlights the intersection of unusual fetishes, compulsive behaviors, and financial consequences, while underscoring the challenges individuals face when seeking specialized support for less common forms of addiction.
