Andy Carroll Makes Public Appearance with KSI Following Not Guilty Plea in Court Case
Former Newcastle United and Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has been seen for the first time since formally pleading not guilty to breaching a non-molestation order. The 37-year-old footballer appeared in high spirits alongside YouTube star and influencer KSI as they attended a National League South match on Saturday.
Footballer Cheers on Dagenham & Redbridge Amid Legal Proceedings
Carroll was photographed at Chigwell Construction Stadium supporting Dagenham & Redbridge, where KSI recently became a co-owner. The East London side secured a 1-0 victory against Dorking Wanderers during the fixture. Carroll, who currently plays for the National League South club, seemed relaxed and engaged in the match atmosphere despite his ongoing legal situation.
Court Hearing Details and Not Guilty Plea
The ex-England international is accused of repeatedly calling his reality television star ex-wife Billi Mucklow in March last year, allegedly breaching a family court order. Carroll entered his formal plea of not guilty during a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on Wednesday via video-link, where he appeared wearing a checked shirt while apparently seated in a parked car.
Prosecutor Philippa Page explained there had been "some mix-up regarding the dates for the plea and trial preparation hearing" which resulted in Carroll and his legal team missing Tuesday's scheduled appearance. Judge Mary Loram KC subsequently adjourned the arraignment by one day.
Trial Date Set for 2027
Following Carroll's not guilty plea, Judge Loram confirmed a trial date of January 18, 2027. The footballer is charged with breaching an order made by the family court at Chelmsford Justice Centre by allegedly contacting his ex-wife "without reasonable excuse." Carroll was granted bail and responded with "thank you, thanks" at the conclusion of the hearing.
Carroll's Football Career and Personal Background
Andy Carroll enjoyed a notable professional career that began with Newcastle United before his record £35 million transfer to Liverpool in 2011. He later played for West Ham United, Reading, West Bromwich Albion, and other clubs. Between 2010 and 2012, he earned nine caps for the England national team, scoring two goals including one during the Euro 2012 tournament.
The former striker's personal life has drawn media attention following his marriage to Billi Mucklow, who gained fame through the reality series The Only Way Is Essex. The couple's relationship and subsequent separation have been subject to public scrutiny, culminating in the current legal proceedings regarding the non-molestation order breach allegations.
As Carroll awaits his trial in 2027, he continues his involvement with Dagenham & Redbridge both as a player and supporter, with his recent appearance alongside KSI marking his first public sighting since the court proceedings.
