Driver Charged Over Anthony Joshua Crash Appears in Court and Faces Further Charges
The driver implicated in the tragic car crash involving former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has made a court appearance in Nigeria, with his case adjourned until March and additional charges filed against him.

Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, aged 46, attended the Sagamu Magistrates Court in Ogun state near Lagos today. His case has been postponed to March 13, as prosecutors requested more time to compile all necessary evidence. Kayode had previously appeared in court on January 20, where he was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and reckless and negligent driving.
He has not yet entered a plea and was released from custody after being granted bail of approximately £2,600. The driver now faces further charges, including driving without due care and operating a vehicle without a valid driver's license, which could potentially lead to a life sentence in prison.
Details of the Fatal Crash
The horrific incident occurred on December 29 near Lagos, when the vehicle carrying Anthony Joshua, his personal trainer Latif Ayodele, and strength coach Sina Ghami collided with a stationary lorry. Ayodele and Ghami were both killed in the accident, while Joshua sustained injuries but survived.
The former heavyweight champion was rushed to hospital and made a recovery before being discharged on New Year's Eve. The 36-year-old returned to the United Kingdom at the beginning of January and is currently continuing his rehabilitation process.
