Radio Star Admits to Daunting Task Ahead
During an appearance on BBC's Morning Live on Monday, March 9, Greg James opened up about the impending challenge, describing it as 'incredibly difficult'. Inspiration from Past Charity Efforts
When questioned by Helen Skelton about his motivation, given his previous charity challenges like the 'Gregathlons' in 2016 and 2018, James explained his enduring commitment. He emphasised, 'Because I really do think that these are the most amazing weeks on the radio where you are shining a light on some people that are less fortunate than you.' He highlighted how Radio 1 thrives during such events, adding, 'And I haven't done it for a few years now. And I thought, you know what? I've got another one in me.'
Details of the Epic Ride
The challenge, dubbed Radio 1’s Longest Ride, will kick off from Weymouth. As the presenters offered words of encouragement, assuring him he would be 'fine', James humorously reiterated, 'There's no turning back!' This initiative aims to raise significant funds for Comic Relief, leveraging James's platform to support those in need.
