NFL Star Faces Cheating Allegations from Ex-Fiancée on Engagement Anniversary

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Tez Johnson has been accused by his former fiancée, Laila Thompson-Wainer, of engaging in infidelity on the very day he proposed to her. Thompson-Wainer has publicly shared her account of their breakup on her TikTok platform, marking just over a year since Johnson got down on one knee.

Shocking Claims of Betrayal on a Joyous Occasion

Thompson-Wainer alleges that Johnson sent sexually explicit messages to his ex-girlfriend in the morning hours of the proposal day, continuing even after she accepted his marriage offer. "I was 90 percent sure he was going to propose that day, there were all these little hints," she recalled. "We went for a photoshoot... he gets down on one knee, my cheeks hurt so much from smiling."

Reflecting on the timeline, she added, "Now, knowing what I know now, this was his timeline. He woke up, texted his ex-girlfriend. Then proceeded to go through the same day I did, gets down on one knee, we commit to each other for the rest of our lives, marriage, crazy concept. Then we get home from our engagement dinner and he texts her this."

Evidence and Emotional Fallout

Thompson-Wainer posted what appear to be screenshots of the alleged messages on social media, intensifying the scandal. She expressed disbelief at Johnson's actions, stating, "I've given up trying to understand how someone can be that evil. I think you have to be a sociopath and that is just it at the end of the day."

Johnson, a 23-year-old athlete drafted in the seventh round of last year's NFL Draft, has not responded to these accusations. He is currently on a four-year contract worth $4.3 million with the Buccaneers, following a promising rookie season where he scored five touchdowns in 16 appearances, though the team missed the postseason.

NFL Connections and Personal Motivations

Interestingly, Thompson-Wainer is also employed within the NFL, serving as a community operations coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks, who recently triumphed at the Super Bowl. She emphasized that her goal in speaking out is to support other women, saying, "If I can make one woman feel seen, heard, or understood, help in a healing journey, then I’ve done what I set out to do."

She further explained, "If I had to deal with a bad fiancé, I would use what I learned about a bad man to spark conversations about healing and build a community of women. That's what I want this platform to be about. It is all about community. There is a lot to say about that man and the story will come out eventually. This is just me reflecting on a year ago."

Thompson-Wainer shows no signs of retracting her claims, indicating that this controversy may continue to unfold in the public eye.
