Police Intervene in Hospital Dispute Involving NBA Star Luka Doncic and Fiancée

Police were reportedly called to a Slovenian maternity hospital in December following a disagreement between Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic and his then-fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, shortly after she gave birth to their second child. The incident has now led to a separation and a legal petition for child support and attorney fees from the NBA superstar.

Details of the Hospital Altercation and Police Response

According to reports from ESPN, the dispute occurred on December 6 at Kranj Maternity Hospital in Slovenia. Doncic, who had flown back from the United States to be present for the birth of his daughter Olivia, expressed a desire to bring their first daughter, Gabriela, back to the U.S. with him. This sparked an argument with Goltes, who was still in the hospital at the time.

Goltes reportedly called the police during the altercation, though Doncic had already left the hospital peacefully before the call was made. Officers arrived at the scene and interviewed Goltes, and later also spoke with Doncic at his home. The police report indicated that no elements of a criminal offense or misdemeanor were detected in Doncic's actions.

Background of the Relationship and Recent Developments

Doncic and Goltes, childhood sweethearts who began dating in 2016 and got engaged in 2023, welcomed their first daughter in November 2023 and their second in December. Despite the hospital incident, Doncic shared a photo of Olivia on Instagram on December 6, the same day as the alleged dispute.

After returning to the U.S., Doncic described the experience as a "rollercoaster" to reporters, emphasizing the significance of being present for his daughter's birth. However, speculation about a split grew last week when Goltes deleted all Instagram photos of the couple.

Legal Actions and Doncic's Response

The situation escalated on Tuesday when Goltes filed a petition in a California court seeking significant child support and attorney fees. In a statement provided to ESPN, Doncic confirmed the end of his engagement, stating, "I love my daughters more than anything... I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement." He added that he is committed to fighting for custody and providing the best life for his children.

Despite the personal turmoil, Doncic made a public appearance on Tuesday night, signing autographs for fans before leading the Lakers to a 120-106 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves with 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists.

Daily Mail has reached out to Kranj Maternity Hospital and the Kranj Police Department for further information on the incident.
