Tiger Woods Arrest Footage Shows Golf Legend Asleep in Police Car
Newly emerged footage has captured golf icon Tiger Woods asleep in the back of a police car, minutes after his arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence. The incident occurred following a two-vehicle rollover crash in Jupiter, Florida, where Woods collided with the rear of a trailer.
Details of the Arrest and Crash Scene
The 15-time major champion and 82-time PGA Tour winner was found crouching beside the road after exiting his Land Rover, reportedly uninjured. According to police reports, Woods was sweating profusely during questioning and had two hydrocodone painkiller tablets on his person at the time of arrest. Officers noted his eyes appeared bloodshot and glassy as he underwent roadside sobriety tests.
In the immediate aftermath of the collision, Woods described the moment of impact, stating, "I looked down at my phone... and all of a sudden, boom." A queue of cars blocked the road as the scene unfolded.
Police Interaction and Medical Concerns
Bodycam footage shows Woods appearing flustered and agitated while reeling off a list of pain medications he had taken that day. An officer, wearing black plastic gloves, checked Woods for injuries, potentially considering his recent back operation and gradual recovery. When asked if he was comfortable, Woods replied, "Yeah, yeah. All set, I'm cool. Yeah, I'm cool."
Throughout the exchange, Woods remained calm and polite, permitting officers to assess him. After they confirmed he was unhurt, Woods enquired, "All set?"
Other Driver's Account and Aftermath
The other motorist involved in the incident reported attempting to turn into a driveway on the right side of the road. "He kept coming," the driver said. "I was getting ready to turn in. I don't think he was looking that's the thing. I'm fine, he hit the trailer. I don't even know if I can drive it out of here."
Following the sobriety test, Woods was taken into custody and escorted to a police vehicle. He was placed in the back with a sheet draped over his head, seen yawning before drifting off to sleep, moving his head several times after being instructed not to.
