Anthony Head, the actor best known for roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Ted Lasso, has died at the age of 72 from complications due to pneumonia. His death comes just months after the sudden passing of his longtime partner, Sarah Fisher, on 1 January at age 61.
Fisher's death was announced by the couple's daughters, Emily and Daisy, in a Facebook post. They described it as “immensely shocking” and “came with very little warning.” The post added: “No words could ever express all that she encompassed, or begin to describe the crater her absence has left.”
Head and Fisher met in the early 1980s backstage at the National Theatre in London, where Head was performing in a play called Danton's Death. Fisher, an animal therapist, ran Tilley Farm near Bath, a sanctuary for rescued horses, ponies and donkeys. The couple never married, despite Head proposing several times; Fisher was not interested in marriage.
The couple had two daughters, Emily and Daisy, both of whom became actresses. Fisher's legacy includes her animal sanctuary and the impact she had on those who knew her. Her daughters said: “We know how profoundly she has impacted the lives of so many, and we couldn't be more proud of the legacy she is leaving behind.”
