Simon Cowell was visibly moved when Ella Chadwick, a young girl he met at the Pride of Britain awards, auditioned for Britain's Got Talent. Ella, 12, from Rochdale, has endured six years of dialysis, two kidney transplants, and also lives with diabetes, yet has raised thousands for charity.
She performed as part of the Sign Along With Us choir, which combines sign language with singing. Cowell had previously told her she had star quality after presenting her with a bravery award in 2018.
Speaking about the reunion, Cowell said: 'It was unbelievable to see her on our stage and I was actually really emotional. When we first met I said to her, “I guarantee at some point you are going to audition for one of my shows.” I didn’t know it would happen this year!'
The 14th series of Britain's Got Talent, hosted by Ant and Dec, begins on Saturday at 8pm on ITV. The live semi-finals and final, originally scheduled for May, have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
