Delta Goodrem 'Too Good' for Eurovision, Says Lorraine Kelly

Lorraine Kelly has delivered her verdict on Delta Goodrem's Eurovision performance, declaring the Australian star was "too good" for the contest. The Scottish broadcaster returned to her morning slot on Monday (May 18) to discuss the biggest stories, including Saturday's (May 16) Eurovision Song Contest 2026 grand finale.

Bulgaria's Dara Triumphs

Bulgarian pop sensation Dara claimed victory with her high-energy dance track Bangaranga, winning both the public and jury votes during a tense finale. Despite not being considered a favourite heading into the competition, Dara's complex choreography and infectious chorus saw her outshine her rivals, securing Bulgaria's maiden Eurovision crown.

UK and Australia Performances

The United Kingdom's representative Look Mum No Computer finished in last place with Eins, Zwei, Drei, earning just a single point from the Ukrainian jury. Meanwhile, Australia's Delta Goodrem secured fourth place with Eclipse, amassing 287 points overall.

Delta delivered the evening's most stunning performance, ascending above the venue on a raised platform. Lorraine remarked on her programme that Delta was "too good" for the contest. Speaking remotely from Los Angeles, correspondent Ross King revealed that Delta was watching, and the duo praised her "brilliant" showing.

"She was above and beyond. Too good I think," Lorraine said. Ross agreed, adding that his neighbour Jonas Myrin penned the ballad.

Delta's Reaction

Delta was among the early favourites, and speaking to journalists after the results, she expressed her delight. "I am so blown away at the love and support. I can't even begin to say thank you. I felt the country with me, all I wanted to do was do my very best and feel that it was a great day," she said.

Delta admitted the voting system was perplexing and she had to seek clarification on her score, but remained ecstatic. "I had to go, 'I'm sorry, what's happening with this bit?' We did everything and went for it, I got to fly out of a piano! I got to use the smoke and the fire... I'm in the top four... I'm thrilled!"

She concluded: "I just want to say thank you, I am so overwhelmed with the love. This was truly once in a lifetime and very magical."

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 9.30am.
