EastEnders star hints at Cindy's Max plan and wedding drama

EastEnders icon Michelle Collins has dropped a cryptic hint about upcoming drama involving her character Cindy Beale and daughter-in-law Lauren Branning, as speculation grows over a possible wedding between Lauren and Peter Beale.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror at the National Television Awards, Collins remained tight-lipped when asked about the couple's future. 'I can't tell you anything about that, I'm sorry!' she said, before quickly changing the subject. She added: 'Cindy and Lauren do not get on. Daughter-in-law, and mother-in-law, but I kind of like that. I like the conflict and the confrontation.'

Lauren actress Jacqueline Jossa previously hinted at wedding bells, telling press: 'You can expect wedding bells. But it's a Walford wedding, so maybe don't fork out on a hat!' Meanwhile, new Executive Producer Ben Wadey teased: 'We've got Lauren, Peter and Oscar, there's plenty of drama to unfold there.'

The drama comes amid the return of Lauren's father Max Branning, with Cindy reportedly seeking answers over the death of her son Steven Beale. Cindy has made it clear she blames Max and believes he got away with it, suggesting a confrontation is on the cards.

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
