Pete Davidson's ex-girlfriend Elsie Hewitt has offered a revealing glimpse into the seriousness of their unexpected separation by posting on her Instagram stories on Saturday. The 30-year-old model, who was first linked to the former Saturday Night Live star in March of last year, shared that she is currently looking for a 'right hand person' following the birth of their daughter in December 2025.
Breakup News Emerges
Just two days prior, news of Hewitt and Davidson's breakup came to light after 14 months together. In her Instagram story, Hewitt uploaded a selfie featuring a lipstick filter while seated in a chair. She wrote: 'I'm currently trying to find an assistant/mother's helper/nanny type/basically right hand person.' She added, 'Apply here if qualified & serious. only looking @ responses with resumes. ($ ofcourse).'
Baby Scottie Rose
Hewitt and Davidson's baby girl, Scottie Rose, was born late last year, just before the Christmas holiday. A source told Us Weekly that the couple are 'still sorting things out' following their separation. The insider noted that the pair 'tried to make it work but there were different stressors, including having a baby together as two people who didn't yet know each other that well.' They added, 'They are both trying to make it work and have made accommodations in their schedules for the baby.'
Reconciliation Unlikely
The source also indicated that a reconciliation between Hewitt and Davidson is 'very unlikely' at this stage. Shortly before her Instagram post, Hewitt was seen for the first time since the split was revealed during an outing in New York City on Friday with their daughter.
A separate insider recently told People that both Davidson and Hewitt are 'working on things.' They said, 'They want one another to succeed and be happy. There have been points where they've split and have gotten back together.' However, the insider added that it remains unclear whether the two will reunite or rekindle their romance in the future.
Reasons for Split
The former couple called it quits partly due to Davidson's busy schedule. 'Pete has been traveling so much for work, but Elsie was craving more support from him at home after their daughter was born,' a source told The Sun. 'It was very hard for him because, obviously, he has to work to make money.' Another insider added that the pair's main priority is focusing on their baby girl and 'working out the best co-parenting solution.'
Davidson has been juggling a packed schedule recently, including attending CinemaCon 2026 and Netflix's The Roast Of Kevin Hart. Weeks earlier, reports emerged that Davidson and Hewitt were facing 'issues' in their relationship. A source claimed to People, 'There are issues, but they're trying to figure things out together.' The insider added that both are 'adjusting to parenthood' while 'working through the process.'
Davidson on Fatherhood
The former SNL star has been open about his experience as a father. 'Dad life is f***ing awesome. It is exhausting and rewarding and cute,' he shared with People in March, gushing about Hewitt. 'And I'm very lucky because Elsie is a fantastic mom, and I can't stress enough how lucky I am.' The Bupkis actor also said it is 'very rewarding to see the person you chose to have a baby with actually crush it so naturally.'
Late last year, Davidson and Hewitt announced the birth of their first child on December 12. Hewitt took to Instagram to share the news with photos of the newborn, writing: 'our perfect angel girl arrived 12/12/2025 scottie rose hewitt davidson.' She added, 'My best work yet, i am absolutely overflowing with love and gratitude and disbelief.' Over the weekend, Hewitt celebrated Mother's Day with a post featuring snaps of her daughter, saying, 'we're all here because of a mother's sacrifice to make herself your first home. i got to be Scottie's greatest honor of my life.'
