Helen Flanagan and her ex-fiancé Scott Sinclair are reportedly locked in a dispute over a £15,000 designer sofa, following the sale of their former family home earlier this week. The couple, who share three children and separated in 2022, have finally sold their six-bedroom Lancashire mansion for £500,000 below the original asking price.
Despite appearing cordial as they reunited to move the former Coronation Street actress, 35, and the children out of the property, tensions have once again flared. A source has claimed that the actress and the footballer, 37, are at war over furniture, with the situation turning 'toxic' and Helen now refusing to speak to her former partner.
'Helen is fuming because the sofa was knackered, the kids ripped it and smeared lipstick all over it, so she spent a fortune having it reupholstered, so rightly believes it's now hers,' the source said. 'She feels Scott is just being difficult for the sake of it. Helen even tried to sell the sofa on her Instagram for £3,950, but Scott saw the post and said: "hold on, that's mine, I'm coming to get it". She hit back and said: "well no, it's mine".'
The insider added: 'Helen said she wasn't planning to talk to Scott or even look him in the eye, things between them are still toxic. All the conversations about moving and the furniture have mostly been over email.'
Daily Mail has contacted representatives for both Helen and Scott for comment.
Background of the Property Sale
Following their split in 2022, Helen had initially wanted to remain in the home. However, the property was put on the market for £1.5 million in May last year, before being reduced to £1.195 million and later to £995,000. The house is now marked as sold on Rightmove, meaning Helen and the couple's three children—Matilda, ten, Delilah, seven, and son Charlie, five—will be leaving it behind.
Scott, who remains the sole owner on Land Registry documents, is expected to pocket around £155,000 from the sale if it went for the final asking price.
Description of the Property
Agents Miller Metcalfe described the house as 'an exceptional and beautifully presented detached family residence, offering over 5,000 sq. ft of luxurious living space.' Situated in the picturesque village of Belmont, the home enjoys a commanding position on the edge of the moors with breathtaking views across reservoirs and open countryside.
The property features a sweeping driveway leading to a double garage, well-manicured gardens, and a gated entrance. Spread over three floors, it includes an entrance hall with floor-to-ceiling windows, an open-plan living area, a 'showpiece' kitchen, a generous breakfast bar, a formal dining room, five further reception rooms, six bedrooms, and six bathrooms, including two-bedroom suites with private living rooms and en-suite shower rooms.
The Couple's History
Helen and Scott were together for 13 years before their breakup in 2022. The separation has been acrimonious, particularly regarding living arrangements. A friend of Helen's previously said: 'Scott pays for the house and all the bills and he's decided a six-bedroom place is way too big for Helen on her own with the kids. But Helen doesn't want to move and is digging her heels in. She loves the place, the kids are settled at the local school and her mum and dad live around the corner.'
Scott reportedly offered to buy Helen a four-bedroom home and put it in her name but wanted to stop maintenance payments. The relationship has completely broken down, with communication now going through her parents. Helen also invested much of her own money into renovating the property.
More recently, Helen said she had made peace with the move, acknowledging a 'sadness' in the house, which was supposed to be the couple's forever family home.
