Jake Paul Doubts Boxing Future After Jaw Surgery

Jake Paul has cast doubt on his boxing future as he continues to recover from a broken jaw sustained in his December defeat to Anthony Joshua. The 29-year-old underwent surgery after the fight and a second procedure in February, leaving his return to the ring uncertain.

Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Paul revealed that he is awaiting scan results to determine the extent of his recovery. “I think I’ll be able to get a more-accurate timeframe of can I even fight again? That is definitely in the realm of possibilities,” he said. “It does feel a lot better as weeks go by, but I definitely need to get cleared first to be able to spar.”

Paul admitted his doctor has advised against fighting again, and some business associates have also urged him to quit. His fiancée is reportedly torn between supporting his athletic drive and concerns for his health. “Definitely my doctor, Arman, he doesn’t want me to fight again,” Paul said. “There’s the occasional business person who’s just like, ‘You don’t need to do this.’”

Despite the uncertainty, Paul insisted he is not ready to walk away. “I’m not done. I can just feel it in my spirit, in my soul and my heart that I have more fights left and unfinished business, in my mind,” he stated. The loss to Joshua was his second career defeat, following a points loss to Tommy Fury in 2023. Paul holds 12 wins, including victories over former UFC champions Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, and boxing veterans Julio Cesar Chavez Jr and Mike Tyson.
