Kate Ritchie, the Australian actress best known for her role in Home and Away, has seen her marriage to retired rugby league player Stuart Webb come to an end. Reports indicate the couple had been struggling for at least three years, with body language experts describing their public appearances as 'strained' and 'tense'.
An interim apprehended violence order (AVO) has been taken out by police to protect Ritchie, 41, against Webb, 39. The conditions include that Webb must not approach Ritchie for at least 12 hours after consuming alcohol or illicit drugs. He is also prohibited from assaulting, threatening, or harassing her.
Webb is already awaiting sentencing for a drink-driving charge, his third such offence since marrying Ritchie in 2010. The couple have a five-year-old daughter. Despite previous denials from Ritchie about marital problems, the AVO signals the breakdown of their relationship.
