Lee Andrews, the husband of Katie Price, is currently in jail in Dubai, but not for the spying charges his wife claimed. Instead, he is detained over a 'private civil matter', according to reports.
Last week, Andrews was due to appear on Good Morning Britain with Price but failed to make his flight from Dubai. Price initially claimed a business matter kept him in Dubai, but later said he had been arrested on suspicion of spying. However, sources have now revealed the arrest is related to a civil matter, not espionage.
Andrews was jailed earlier this month and is expected to be released on Monday after paying a four-figure fine. Prior to his arrest, he had moved his belongings out of his rented property and briefly stayed with his father. His whereabouts after that remain unknown, leading Price and Andrews' family to file a missing persons report with the British embassy.
Price spoke to Andrews on May 27, during which she told him he was the 'most hated man in Britain'. She said he was shocked by this revelation. Price has demanded that Andrews give a sit-down interview to explain the situation.
