Kirsty Gallacher Blasts Fly-Tippers Over Waste Dump

Kirsty Gallacher has strongly condemned the 'parasite' fly-tippers responsible for dumping a 'disgraceful' mountain of waste on a country lane near her home. The 50-year-old TV presenter, who resides in a £1.5 million rural property on the outskirts of Bracknell, Berkshire, expressed her fury at the large piles of overflowing bin bags that have remained on the road for at least five days.

In an Instagram video, the furious model lashed out at the 'parasite who has been working on a roofing job and decided to chuck all this' on the lane. The large mound of rubbish consists of building materials, cans, and dozens of overflowing bin bags, stretching along the road and blocking drivers. The mother-of-two called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice to deter future incidents, stating that her community is 'suffering' due to fly-tipping but had never witnessed 'anything like this'.

In the video, she said: 'Look at this. How disgusting is this. This has been fly-tipped on our road. This beautiful country road in Berkshire. Have a look at the length of that. I can't believe what I'm seeing. We get a lot of fly-tipping but I've never seen anything like this. It's some parasite who has been working on a roofing job and decided to chuck all this slate, all this insulation foam, which is going everywhere because it's windy. Black bin liners, cans are everywhere. I actually cannot believe it. And it has been like this for five days nearly. Council haven't done anything. [There's] all this wood with nails in it. It's a disgrace, an absolute disgrace.'

Alongside the video, she captioned the post: 'Fly tipping… this is the worst case I’ve ever seen in our area! What can we do to bring these criminals to justice and deter them from doing it? It’s an absolute disgrace. Let me know if your community is suffering like ours & feel free to share, thank you!'

Public Reaction

Commenting on the post, broadcaster Ben Fogle said: 'This makes me so angry.' Reality TV star Jo Frost fumed at the 'criminal act', stating: 'It says a lot about those people that make up a percentage of our society, they are ignorant and uneducated to the importance of keeping our countryside and inner cities clean. It is a criminal act. These people probably have children who have no respect either, it starts at home. The respect is gone.' Singer Jessica Pietersen branded the rubbish dump 'horrendous' and called for ANPR cameras to be installed.

Broader Fly-Tipping Problem

The Bracknell fly-tip is the latest in a series of rubbish dumps that have angered Britons amid fears that neighbourhoods are being turned into 'slums'. In November, one of Britain's 'biggest ever' fly tips—a 500-foot-long mountain of abandoned rubbish—appeared in Oxfordshire. Fly-tippers are making homeowners' lives 'unbearable' in Willenhall, West Midlands, where dumped sofas, washing machines, and even an old caravan line the streets. Jamie Tombs, 49, a resident of a housing estate in the area, said the mountains of discarded rubbish were 'getting beyond a joke'. He added: 'It's the worst fly-tipping spot in the borough and I imagine there's not really anything like it elsewhere in the UK this bad. Morons are just constantly adding to it but they get away with it so of course they carry on. It feels sometimes like there's fly-tipped rubbish on every corner.' He claimed local council workers 'sometimes' collect the rubbish but nothing has been done 'for long periods' despite an outcry from locals. The waste includes not only household items but also caravans and car parts, making it feel 'like living in a slum'. In Oxfordshire, a massive 500-foot-long mountain of abandoned rubbish, branded an 'environmental catastrophe', was illegally dumped in a field next to the A34 and River Cherwell near Kidlington. It is believed the waste was dumped in one go, and a £7.3 million operation to remove the giant illegal tip began last month.
