BBC Commissions Two New Welsh Dramas Set and Filmed in Wales

The BBC has announced two new drama commissions set and filmed in Wales, as part of its commitment to increase portrayal content across the devolved nations. The series, Old Town Murders and The Witch Farm, will air on BBC One, BBC One Wales, and BBC iPlayer.

Old Town Murders is a witty, twisty crime series set in Tenby, West Wales, starring Mark Lewis Jones and Steffan Rhodri. The show promises to deliver authentic Welsh storytelling with a unique blend of humour and mystery.

The Witch Farm, adapted from Danny Robins’ hit podcast of the same name, is a ghost story and mystery set in the Welsh countryside. The series stars Gabrielle Creevy and Michael Socha, bringing the chilling tale to screen.

Nick Andrews, Head of Commissioning for BBC Cymru Wales, said: “We’re heading into such a rich season of content for audiences in Wales – stories which resonate deeply here but will ricochet across the UK and beyond.” Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, added: “Following the recent success of Wales-made hit dramas The Other Bennet Sister and The Guest, we’re delighted to announce two new dramas both filmed and set in Wales.”
