Doctors Question Trump Medical Report Lacking Cardiac Details

Some doctors are questioning a recent White House report on President Donald Trump’s annual medical examination, saying it lacks crucial details about his cardiac health. The report, released on Friday, stated that Trump “remains in excellent health” with strong cardiac function, but physicians argue that key test results were omitted.

Dr. William Shutze, a Texas vascular surgeon, told the Wall Street Journal that the report should have included more information about the carotid ultrasound, such as the amount of plaque present. “Almost all of us are going to have some buildup there,” he noted.

The report cited results from a coronary CT angiography, an echocardiogram, and a carotid ultrasound, all described as normal. However, doctors said it lacked specific metrics like a calcium score, a CAD-RADS score for arterial narrowing, and the ejection fraction from the echocardiogram—a measure previously included in Trump’s 2018 health report.

White House communications director Steven Cheung defended the report, stating that Trump has released more health information than any previous president. He criticised doctors for speculating about a patient not under their care, adding that any absence of results should be seen as confirmation that no abnormalities were found.

Presidential health has come under increased scrutiny as Americans elect older leaders. Trump, who turns 80 this month, is the second-oldest person to serve as president, after Joe Biden.
