Meghan Markle Demands Evidence in Bullying Row as Royal Audit Looms

The Duchess of Sussex has formally requested that Buckingham Palace provide all documents, emails, and text messages related to the bullying allegations made against her, according to a senior Palace source. The request comes as the Palace launches an inquiry into claims that Meghan bullied two personal assistants and undermined a third.

The allegations first emerged earlier this month when an email from Jason Knauf, the couple's former press secretary, was leaked to The Times. In the October 2018 email, Knauf wrote that the Duchess had bullied two PAs out of the household and was seeking to undermine another's confidence. He described the situation as 'very serious' after discussions with HR head Samantha Carruthers.

In response to Meghan's demand for evidence, the Queen has passed the request to the Prince of Wales, whose aides are now searching files. The Duchess's office has indicated she is preparing to fight back against what she terms a 'smear campaign'. Her spokesman stated she is 'saddened by this latest attack on her character'.

Buckingham Palace has expressed concern and stated that staff involved, including those who have left, will be invited to participate in the inquiry to learn lessons. The Palace had hoped the investigation would remain private, but friends of the Duchess have reportedly been authorised to defend her publicly.
