Inter Milan cruised to the Serie A title after a 2-0 victory over Parma at the San Siro, securing their 21st scudetto with three matches to spare. Marcus Thuram opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan sealed the win 10 minutes from time. Inter moved to 82 points, establishing an unassailable 12-point lead over Napoli, who were held to a 0-0 draw by Como on Saturday.
Match Highlights
Inter controlled much of the first half, despite a scarcity of clear-cut chances. Nicolò Barella came close in the 25th minute when his powerful close-range shot struck the underside of the bar, hitting goalkeeper Zion Suzuki on the back. The Japan international reacted quickly to tip the ball away from the line. Thuram sparked celebrations in first-half stoppage time, slotting home after being found unmarked by Piotr Zielinski's through ball.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Inter in control but failing to capitalise on their dominance. Federico Dimarco delivered a near-perfect cross to Denzel Dumfries, but the defender failed to control his first touch, sending the effort over the bar. Mkhitaryan put the result beyond doubt on 80 minutes, tapping in a low cross from Lautaro Martínez to spark title celebrations.
Champions League Race
While Inter celebrated, Milan and Juventus face risks of missing out on Champions League qualification. Milan were reduced to 10 men and beaten 2-0 at Sassuolo, their fourth defeat in seven matches. Juventus drew 1-1 with relegated Hellas Verona. Third-placed Milan are two points ahead of fourth-placed Juventus, who are just three points ahead of fifth-placed Como. The top four sides gain entry to next season's Champions League.
Domenico Berardi scored early for Sassuolo, and Fikayo Tomori was sent off before Armand Laurienté doubled the hosts' advantage. Milan have scored only one goal in their past five matches. Juventus extended their unbeaten run to nine matches but dropped points. Kieron Bowie put Verona ahead after intercepting a pass from Gleison Bremer, before Dusan Vlahovic equalised with a free-kick for his first goal since October. Bologna were held to a 0-0 draw by Cagliari.
