Fears are mounting for a missing mother-of-two from Cornwall, with police launching an urgent search after her bag was found in a park near a viaduct in Truro. Claire Bennett, 49, was last heard from at around 1.30pm on Monday, with CCTV capturing her final confirmed sighting at 3.24pm as she left Truro Train Station.
Officers raised the alarm for her welfare on Tuesday morning after she was officially classed as a high-risk missing person. The mother, from St Austell, is believed to still be in the Truro area, according to Devon and Cornwall Police.
In a heartbreaking appeal, her daughter urged her to come home, saying: 'Mum, if you read this please come home. We aren't mad at you and we all bloody love you! You win at hide and seek. Just even send me a message to tell me you're OK. We can get through this. I promise. I love you.'
Ms Bennett is described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build, with blonde hair usually worn down. At the time she disappeared, she was wearing a white stripy top, a black cardigan and blue jeans.
Devon and Cornwall Police said in a statement: 'We continue to be concerned for the welfare of a missing woman who may be in the Truro area, and we have released images of her last known sighting. Searches and enquiries are ongoing, but we are appealing for anyone who has seen Claire or knows where she is to contact us.'
Anyone who sees Ms Bennett or knows of her whereabouts is asked to contact police on 999 quoting log 610 of 11 August.
