The three ring girls who will be centre stage for the highly lucrative and controversial boxing match between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul this Friday in Miami have officially been announced.
The Confirmed Trio for the High-Stakes Bout
The models tasked with holding the cards for the multi-million pound spectacle are Raphaela Milagres, Marissa Ayers, and Journi Carr. The fight itself, a major crossover event that has divided opinion in the boxing world, is reported to be worth just under £140 million.
Former two-time unified world heavyweight champion Joshua has ominously stated he has a 'licence to kill' for the bout, while YouTube star-turned-boxer Paul responded defiantly, saying: 'Let's kill each other.' Amidst this intense build-up, the ring girls will provide a familiar ceremonial presence.
Introducing the Ring Card Crew
Journi Carr, a 25-year-old influencer and model from Texas, is the latest addition to the team. She announced her involvement this week to her 406,000 Instagram followers, expressing she was 'beyond excited' for her debut. Interestingly, boxing organisers had initially searched for a UK-based model but selected Carr regardless.
She joins two more experienced colleagues. Raphaela Milagres, a 30-year-old Brazilian model with 181,000 Instagram followers, is no stranger to Jake Paul's fights. She previously worked as a ring girl for his victory over Mike Tyson in November 2023 and his win against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr last June.
The third member is Marissa Ayers, a 22-year-old former gymnast and University of Alabama graduate. She gained recognition at the high-profile Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano bout earlier this year, which Milagres also worked. Ayers boasts a significant social media following, with 406,000 on Instagram and 1.5 million on TikTok – notably more than Anthony Joshua's 1.1 million.
Global Spotlight on Miami Showdown
The trio shared their excitement, posing together at the pre-fight press conference in Miami. With the eyes of the sporting world fixed on this Friday's event, their role in signalling the rounds to a global audience of millions is a key part of the spectacle. Their job will be crucial in helping viewers track the progress of the fight – should it last multiple rounds.
The match continues to generate fierce debate, with many concerned for Jake Paul's safety against the seasoned power of Anthony Joshua. Regardless of the outcome, the confirmed ring girls are now set to play their part in one of the year's most talked-about sporting events.
