Arsenal have undergone training ahead of their final game of the Premier League season with a number of players missing - Max Dowman among them.
Champions prepare for final day and Champions League final
The newly crowned champions will be officially coronated on Sunday when they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Their status was confirmed on Tuesday when Manchester City could only draw at Bournemouth, 24 hours after the Gunners had seen off Burnley.
The celebrations will have been somewhat contained as Mikel Arteta's side still have to prepare for the Champions League final against PSG in Budapest on Saturday May 30 with a unique double on their radar.
Key players absent from training
The Gunners squad has been put through its paces at their training ground but Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Jurrien Timber were nowhere to be seen. Football.london understands that the trio were doing individual work inside the training ground building, thus not out on the pitch.
Mikel Merino was also absent to start with, but joined the session around a quarter of an hour after it began. Goalkeeper David Raya was also missing whilst teenage sensation Max Dowman is currently in the GCSE exam period and is therefore fully focused on his exams.
Potential changes for final league game
Arsenal could yet put out a changed side when they head to face the Eagles this weekend, who themselves may rest several of their leading lights as they prepare for the Europa Conference League final in Leipzig.
The Gunners ended a 22-year wait by claiming the Premier League title this week. Not since the Invincibles have they sat at the summit of English football with Arteta answering his doubters following a number of near misses. Arsenal had finished second three times on the bounce before this season.
Champions League final revenge mission
Further glory could yet lie ahead as the north Londoners look to exact revenge on PSG, who knocked them out of the Champions League last term. The Parisians won both legs en route to claiming European glory themselves.
The French side have looked irresistible at times this term as they look to become only the second team in the Champions League-era to defend their title. PSG will go into the final as firm favourites having knocked off Bayern Munich in the last four. Arsenal themselves battled past Atletico Madrid and are yet to lose in Europe this year.
