Carragher Warns Liverpool Must Sign Midfielders for Top-Four Finish

Jamie Carragher has urged Liverpool to overhaul their midfield after a 3-1 defeat to Brentford, warning that failure to strengthen will cost them a top-four finish. The former Reds defender criticised the team's lack of pace and physicality, saying they 'do not look like a Jurgen Klopp team'.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher said Liverpool's midfield needs a 'complete revamp' and compared their decline to Arsenal under Arsene Wenger. He argued that the current squad lacks the intensity that defined Klopp's early years, and that the defence is suffering from a lack of protection.

Carragher called for an investment of around £200 million on three high-quality midfielders, including a player similar to Georginio Wijnaldum. He singled out the club's recruitment team, saying they have been over-praised despite failing to address the midfield in recent windows.
