Celtic Manager Target Craig Bellamy Rules Out Move, Commits to Wales

Craig Bellamy has ended speculation linking him with the Celtic manager's job, confirming his full focus remains on Wales and their 2026 World Cup campaign. The former striker, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Celtic, was among the names touted for the vacant position at Parkhead.

Speaking ahead of the international break, Bellamy stated: 'I couldn't want for anything more than what I have at this present moment and that's where it lies for me. Anything else is not on my radar.' He stressed his commitment to the four-year contract he signed with the Football Association of Wales.

When asked if his stance might change if Celtic were willing to wait, Bellamy replied: 'I have a number of years to run. I did sign a four-year contract.' He added that he intends to stay as long as he feels wanted and can contribute to the national team's progress.

FAW chief Noel Mooney echoed Bellamy's stance, saying: 'Craig's done a terrific job with Cymru. He's built an identity with us and a style of playing that has really got you all excited.' Mooney confirmed the association is planning to retain Bellamy for the long term, with the immediate goal of reaching the World Cup.

Wales are currently in the midst of their qualifying campaign, with play-offs scheduled for March. Bellamy's side faces Liechtenstein and North Macedonia this month as they aim to secure a spot in the 2026 tournament.
