Quotes corner

Dave Allen: “I expect Filip at 70 per cent as he promised me 70 per cent... Am I good enough? Technically probably not but if he gets into a fight with me he is going to be in for a shock.” He added: "If I beat Filip Hrgovic I may just put my gloves down in the middle of the ring and walk away", going on to say: "Hrgovic is the end goal, if the winner fights Itauma I’m not bothered!"

Filip Hrgovic: "I'm ready for anything, I have had a good camp and I have not underestimated him", and: "Every fight is the most important fight and I must win."

The Doncaster native comes into the mouthwatering heavyweight showdown off the back of a first round stoppage victory over Karim Berredjem earlier this year. Allen has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence in recent times, which was briefly halted after suffering a controversial defeat to Johnny Fisher back in December 2024. However, the 34-year-old would end up getting his revenge just months later after knocking out the Brit. Prior to his win over Berredjem, Allen was beaten rather convincingly on points by Arslanbek Makhmudov. But tonight's clash will arguably be his toughest test yet. Hrgovic has only lost once in his career so far - a TKO loss to Daniel Dubois two years ago - but has since followed it up with back-to-back wins over Joe Joyce and David Adeleye.
