England's World Cup squad will enjoy a night off in Miami to 'unwind' before heading to their tournament base in Kansas City, manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed. The break comes after the team's second warm-up match against Costa Rica on Wednesday, following their friendly against New Zealand on Tuesday.

The time off will allow captain Harry Kane and his teammates to relax together and spend time with family and friends who have already arrived in the United States. England's WAGs are heading to the States, with Kane's wife Kate pictured at the training base in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, posting 'Recharged' after a tough session.

Other family members making the trip include Mark Bellingham, father of midfielder Jude, and Noel Scott, father of Bournemouth's Alex Scott. Jordan Pickford's wife Megan is also understood to be travelling to the US after a Caribbean break. Arsenal players were given extra time off due to the Champions League final but are due to join the camp before the team heads to Kansas City.

Bukayo Saka's girlfriend Tolami Benson and Chelsea captain Reece James's partner Mia McClenaghan are also expected to attend the games. Former manager Gareth Southgate, speaking at a hospice redevelopment, expressed confidence in the squad, saying: 'They are in the mix. There is an expectation among themselves that they will be in the latter stages of a tournament. They will win a tournament at some stage.'
