UEFA has announced the prize money for Euro 2024, with a total of €331 million (£283.9 million) to be distributed among the 24 participating teams. The eventual winners could earn up to €28.25 million (£24.2 million) if they win all their group and knockout matches.
Each nation will receive €9.25 million (£7.9 million) just for qualifying, with additional bonuses of €1 million (£857,000) per win and €500,000 (£428,000) per draw in the group stage. Teams that advance from their group will earn an extra €1.5 million (£1.2 million).
Quarter-finalists will receive €2.5 million (£2.1 million), while semi-finalists get an additional €4 million (£3.4 million). The winners of the final will earn a further €8 million (£6.8 million), with runners-up receiving €5 million (£4.2 million).
How the prize money is spent will be decided by each nation's Football Association, but teams typically negotiate performance-related bonuses. For example, England's men's team were set to earn between £400,000 and £450,000 each had they won the 2022 World Cup, while the Lionesses received £55,000 each for winning the 2022 European Championship.
England manager Gareth Southgate expressed confidence ahead of the tournament, saying after the final qualifier: 'The next exciting bit is the draw at the beginning of December and we will see what the path looks like.'
