Hull City are among the clubs linked with a summer move for Royal Charleroi SC midfielder Yacine Titraoui, with the Algerian international reportedly keen on a switch to the Premier League. The Tigers, who secured promotion to the top flight after a decade away with a Wembley victory, are said to be joined by Sunderland and Leeds United in expressing interest in the 21-year-old.
Titraoui, currently on international duty preparing for the World Cup, is valued at around £10m. His contract with the Belgian club runs until next summer, although Charleroi hold an option to extend by a further 12 months. A source close to the player indicated that a move to England is likely, with the player's dream being to play in the Premier League.
“It’s true that Sunderland and Hull City are very interested in Titraoui, but the player is currently focused on the World Cup,” the source said. “I won’t hide the fact that I spoke with Titraoui, and he confided in me that his dream was to play in the Premier League last season and that he doesn’t want to play in any other league.”
The source added that Charleroi are waiting to see how Titraoui performs at the World Cup before negotiating a transfer, as a strong showing could increase his market value. “Imagine if Titraoui participates in the World Cup and shines with Algeria; his market value will skyrocket! Charleroi are waiting for that to happen in order to get the best possible price,” the source said.
