Luke Littler's £500k Generosity & World Darts Championship Quest
Luke Littler's Generous Gift from £500k Prize Money

Teenage darts superstar Luke Littler has once again demonstrated that his phenomenal talent is matched only by his generous heart. As he prepares for a crucial third-round match in the World Darts Championship this Saturday, a touching story has emerged about how he shared his life-changing £500,000 prize money with his family following his historic win last January.

A Brotherly Gesture That Sums Up The Champion

After clinching the Sid Waddell trophy in a stunning victory that made him the youngest ever world champion, Luke Littler earned a monumental £500,000 payday. In a moment that captured his grounded character, the 18-year-old immediately handed a portion of his winnings to his brother, Leon. The emotional scene, where Leon kissed his sibling on the head in gratitude, highlighted that Littler's focus remains firmly on those closest to him, despite his meteoric rise to becoming the world number one.

This act of generosity underscores a key trait in the prodigy's personality: a steadfast loyalty to his support network, including parents Anthony Buckley and Lisa Littler, who joined him on the Alexandra Palace stage during his triumph.

Back on the Ally Pally Stage for More Glory

Now, Littler's attention is fixed on securing back-to-back World Darts Championship titles. His campaign continues on Saturday evening at around 9:30pm, where he will face experienced Austrian opponent Mensur Suljovic in the third round.

The Warrington-born star has navigated the early stages with ease. He began his title defence with a straight-sets victory over Darius Labanauskas on opening night, before enjoying a ten-day break. He returned to dispatch debutant David Davies in just three sets, showcasing the formidable form that has dominated the sport throughout 2025.

Chasing History and Taylor's Record

Littler's ambitions stretch far beyond a second world title. After a spectacular year where he has already claimed major honours including the UK Open, World Matchplay, and World Grand Prix, he is now being asked about the ultimate darts record: Phil Taylor's 16 world championships.

When questioned about the possibility of matching or surpassing 'The Power's' legendary tally, Littler's confidence was clear. "If I want the 16, then I am sure I could possibly achieve it," he stated. "If deep down, I really want it, then with my ability, I’m sure I can achieve a lot more. But I know I’m in this for a long, long time."

His immediate goal is more tangible: adding to his trophy haul. "I just want to try and win as many titles as I can this year. I won 10 last year. I’ve started the year off with one. But just try and add on to that 10. Maybe win 10, 11 or 12 or even more titles," he added.

First, he must overcome the challenge of Suljovic at Ally Pally. A win would edge him closer to that second world crown—and potentially set him on a path to making an unbelievable 16-title dream a future reality.
