Motherwell stunned Rangers with a 2-1 victory at Ibrox, dealing a major blow to the hosts' Scottish Premiership title hopes and handing the advantage to Celtic. Goals from Theo Bair and Dan Casey secured the win, with Casey's 74th-minute strike proving decisive.
Bair opened the scoring in the ninth minute, slotting home after Jack Vale's cutback. Rangers equalised through a James Tavernier penalty on the hour mark following a VAR review, but Casey restored Motherwell's lead with a close-range header from Blair Spittal's cross.
The defeat was Rangers' first in 12 games across all competitions. Manager Philippe Clement also confirmed that on-loan winger Óscar Cortés has a 'severe injury' that will keep him sidelined for an extended period.
Rangers remain two points clear at the top, but Celtic can leapfrog them with a win at Hearts on Sunday. Motherwell's victory was their first league win at Ibrox since 1997.
