Michael Owen Questions Matheus Cunha's Attitude After Manchester United Debut

Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has raised concerns about Matheus Cunha's attitude following the Brazilian's first Premier League appearance for the club. Cunha, a £62.5million summer signing from Wolves, played the full 90 minutes in United's 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

Owen praised Cunha's talent but questioned his on-field behaviour. 'I think Cunha has got a little bit of magic about him. I love watching him play,' Owen told AskGamblers. 'My only question mark is his attitude. He gets sent off a lot, he waves his arms a lot, and you've already got someone like that alongside him in Bruno Fernandes.'

Cunha served two suspensions last season at Wolves: a three-match ban for a red card against Bournemouth in the FA Cup, later extended by one game, and a two-game ban for an altercation with an Ipswich staff member. Owen suggested that joining a big club like United might 'put some manners on him'.

Despite the concerns, Owen believes Cunha can succeed at Old Trafford if he improves his behaviour. 'From a talent point of view, he's absolutely there,' Owen added. Cunha scored 15 league goals for Wolves last season and said in July: 'I really think the pressure at this club is a privilege.'
