Dominic Solanke has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur players held crisis talks in the dressing room following their latest Premier League defeat. The north London side slumped to a 3-1 loss at home to Crystal Palace on Thursday night, leaving them just one point and two places above the relegation zone with nine games remaining.
Solanke had given Spurs the lead, but goals from Ismaila Sarr and Jorgen Strand Larsen turned the match around before half-time. Defender Micky van de Ven was also sent off, compounding the misery for a side that has now lost 14 league matches this season.
Speaking to TNT Sports, the striker said: 'We've just had a big conversation. We know the position we are in is definitely not where we want to be so we need to figure out how we are going to get out of it as soon as possible. We know there's been difficulties but we're not in a position to make any excuses anymore. We need to do the job on the pitch.'
Interim boss Igor Tudor, who has lost all three of his games in charge, also addressed the situation. 'I want to be positive,' he said. 'I cannot tell the guys nothing in the end after this game. They gave everything. Unfortunately, we pay every detail. Still nine games to play. Still nine games to play.'
