Swansea Stun Forest In Carabao Cup Penalty Drama

Ange Postecoglou was left shaking his head in disbelief as Swansea City staged a remarkable late comeback to knock Nottingham Forest out of the Carabao Cup. The Championship side scored twice in the final four minutes of stoppage time to secure a 3-2 victory at the City Ground.

Igor Jesus had given Forest a two-goal lead at half-time with his first goals for the club, but Swansea fought back. Cameron Burgess pulled one back in the 68th minute, heading in Eom Ji-sung's corner. Then, in the 93rd minute, substitute Zan Vipotnik equalised, converting Liam Cullen's cross for his fifth goal in five matches.

Deep into stoppage time, Ethan Galbraith's shot from 25 yards hit the upright, and Burgess thumped in the rebound to spark wild celebrations. The result means Postecoglou must wait for his first win as Forest head coach.

Postecoglou took responsibility for the collapse, pointing to himself as he acknowledged the away fans. 'We put them through a tough night,' he said. 'We are out of a cup competition we should have progressed in. I sensed the players thought it was going to happen automatically.'

Swansea head coach Alan Sheehan praised his side's resilience. 'I had Malick Yalcouyé jumping on my back but I was quite calm,' he said. 'I was looking at the clock because with 30 seconds left they are a team that can put the ball in the top corner.'
