Defending champions Somerset have begun their title defence with two convincing victories. Surrey’s Resilience
Surrey also started strongly, overcoming Lancashire and then Middlesex in a tense London derby at Lord’s. Chasing 144, Surrey found themselves in trouble at 56-4 before Sam Curran and Laurie Evans guided them home. Curran’s all-round ability, alongside his brother Tom, gives Surrey multiple options.
Yorkshire’s Thriller
Yorkshire pulled off a dramatic win against Derbyshire, with Moeen Ali smashing five sixes. Needing 56 off 27 balls with one wicket left, Andrew Tye and Hasan Ali launched a stunning counterattack, securing victory with four balls to spare. Yorkshire now have two wins from two.
Warwickshire Struggle
Warwickshire, now known as the Bears, have lost both their opening matches. Despite bowling out Gloucestershire for 121, they were dismantled by South African pacers Duan Jansen and Marchant de Lange, collapsing to 48-6.
Kent’s Crawley Finds Form
Kent sit top of the South Group after a thrilling chase against Sussex. Zak Crawley scored an unbeaten 75, his first half-century of the summer, as Kent reached 199 with 10 balls to spare. Crawley’s form will be a boost after losing his England Test place.
The Blast continues to deliver excitement, with Finals Day scheduled for July at Edgbaston.
