Love Island star Lochan Nowacki has revealed he spent Sunday in A&E after suffering a painful foot injury that he fears could be a serious Achilles rupture.
A Painful Start to the New Year
The 27-year-old, who was a runner-up on season 10 of the hit ITV2 show, shared the health scare with his 212,000 Instagram followers. He posted a photo of his injured left foot, elevated on pillows and showing a large red mark.
"Great way to start year. Think I’ve ruptured [my] Achilles praying I haven't," he wrote in a caption, expressing his concern over a potential tendon tear.
In a subsequent update, Nowacki confirmed he had attended an Accident and Emergency department, sharing a selfie with his mother, Kulminder, in a hospital waiting room. The playful photo showed his mum sticking her tongue out as he waited for treatment.
The Serious Nature of an Achilles Injury
A suspected Achilles rupture is a significant setback for the reality TV personality. According to NHS guidance, this type of injury often involves a sudden, severe pain in the heel or calf, sometimes accompanied by a snapping sound.
Patients frequently describe the sensation as feeling like being hit in the back of the leg. The injury typically makes walking very difficult and, crucially, can require 12 months or more for a full recovery.
Lochan has not provided further updates since sharing the hospital waiting room snapshot approximately four hours prior to the initial reports.
Injury Casts Shadow on Positive Start to 2026
The potential injury comes at an unfortunate time for Nowacki, who appeared to be enjoying a positive start to the new year. He recently soft-launched a new relationship with Too Hot To Handle star Brianna Balram.
The pair celebrated her 28th birthday with a trip to Paris, where Lochan posted a loving comment: "Happy birthday, baby!! Blessed to be spending this day with you and the rest of them."
This new romance follows his highly publicised and bitter split from his Love Island co-star and ex-partner, Whitney Adebayo, in April 2025. The pair, who met on the show in 2023 and finished in second place, ended their relationship acrimoniously.
Whitney later made serious allegations against Nowacki, which he strongly denied. In September 2025, it was revealed that Lochan was pursuing legal action against his ex. He suggested the allegations emerged after a video collaboration with influencer Brianna Balram in July, hinting that perceived chemistry was a motivating factor.
Whitney Adebayo has since publicly stated she is unaware of any court case, telling The Mirror she has been focusing on her business and podcast.
Now, fans of the reality star will be awaiting further news on his health, hoping the injury is less severe than initially feared and that his recovery is swift.
