World's Largest Car: 21ft Hummer With Two-Storey Flat Inside
21ft Hummer is world's largest car with flat inside

In a staggering feat of automotive excess, the world's largest car – a 21ft tall Hummer containing a two-storey flat – has been showcased in remarkable detail. This mammoth machine, which requires a ladder to enter, is the creation of a billionaire royal and now resides as a museum showpiece.

A Colossal Creation: Inside the Hummer HW X3

The vehicle, known as the Hummer HW X3, is a monument to extreme engineering. It towers at 21.6ft high, stretches to 46ft in length, and spans 20ft in width. To put its scale in perspective, it is three times the size of a standard Hummer and boasts 27 times the volume.

Motoring vloggers from Vehicle Virgins recently explored the behemoth at the Sharjah Off Road History Museum, located 30km north of Dubai, and were left astounded. The presenter remarked on the sheer impossibility of its dimensions, noting one must climb underneath the vehicle and use an integrated ladder just to get inside.

Luxury Accommodation on Wheels

This is no ordinary vehicle interior. The upper level is designed like a plush villa with a private guest area, while the lower floor houses practical amenities including a toilet, kitchen, and sink. "Inside there is a bathroom, there is a sink and it requires you to stand up when you drive it," the vlogger observed during the tour.

Powering this mobile apartment are four diesel engines, allowing it to reach a top speed of 19mph. The build utilised the frame of a U.S. Army LARC-LX steel-hulled amphibious cargo vehicle. The running costs are as enormous as the car itself, with a single tyre reportedly costing around £18,500.

The Royal Owner Behind the Record-Breaker

The mastermind behind this two-storey automotive beast is Sheikh Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, popularly known as the Rainbow Sheikh. A member of the Emirati Royal family – the world's wealthiest royal clan with a net worth of $300bn (£222bn) – he holds the Guinness World Record for the largest 4x4 vehicle collection, owning an astounding 718 vehicles.

While the colossal Hummer is now a permanent exhibit at his museum in the United Arab Emirates, the Sheikh did take it for a spin when it was first constructed. The vehicle's unveiling on social media sparked amused reactions, with one viewer commenting, "When you have money you can be really creative," and another quipping it would be perfect for a "zombie apocalypse."
