Mulligans, a sports bar in Newcastle city centre, has become a popular destination for football fans watching the 2026 World Cup, offering stadium-style seating that replicates the experience of being inside a stadium. The venue, located near The Gate, underwent a six-figure transformation earlier this year to relaunch as a dedicated sports bar, having previously operated as a crazy golf course under the name Mr Mulligans since 2018.
England's World Cup Journey and Upcoming Match
England, managed by Thomas Tuchel, secured a 4-2 victory over Croatia in their opening group match, followed by a goalless draw against Ghana. The team returned to winning ways on Saturday night with a 2-0 win over Panama, a team they had previously thrashed 6-1 in the 2018 World Cup. England now faces DR Congo in the round of 32 knockout tie on Wednesday, with the match kicking off at 5pm UK time.
Mulligans' Stadium-Style Seating and Packages
Mulligans offers a unique viewing experience with its stadium-style seating, priced at £9.50 per spot, which provides a luxury take on traditional football ground terraces. Tables for 2 to 6 people can be reserved for £10, including two drinks. For larger groups, private booths are available, each equipped with its own big screen and extra space for celebrations. The VIP package costs £220 and includes three hours of booth use, a beer tower holding six pints of house beer, and a sharing food platter featuring glazed wings, fries, pizzas, sliders, nachos, and dips.
City Centre Buzz for England Matches
With the match kicking off at 5pm, Newcastle city centre is expected to be buzzing as many workers hope for an early finish to secure a spot with a pint in time for kick-off. Mulligans has established itself as a fan favourite for such occasions, offering a vibrant atmosphere for football enthusiasts.
