Newcastle Transfer News: Double Keeper Exit, Trafford Twist

Newcastle United are already pursuing their second summer transfer signing after clinching the deal to bring young goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen to the club. The Magpies completed the signing of the French Under-21 goalkeeper on Wednesday and now have their targets set on other areas of the squad.

Exits and Incomings

With Anthony Gordon already sold to Barcelona, Newcastle will face interest for Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, while there could be plenty of other exits as room is made for new arrivals. Goalkeepers Nick Pope and Odysseas Vlachodimos have been linked with moves away, as United eye another shot-stopper, while they are also on the lookout for defensive cover, a new goalscorer and wide options.

Vlachodimos Exit Nearer

Remember Odysseas Vlachodimos? The goalkeeper is still very much a Newcastle player, and could have a big role in the summer transfer plan. He spent last season on loan at Sevilla, but the Spanish club were unlikely to be able to afford a permanent move. However, reports in Spain suggest they have not given up hope of striking a deal and keeping him at the club.

New Trafford Twist

Newcastle have long been linked with a move for Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford, with the England shot-stopper expected to leave the Etihad this summer. Aston Villa have also been credited with interest, but now Leeds United have been added to the mix. Reports suggest Daniel Farke could be ready to turn his attentions to Trafford, and move away from Newcastle's Nick Pope. Newcastle still want a new No 1 despite signing Ewen Jaouen from Stade Reims - so it looks like it's going to be an interesting goalkeeper merry-go-round this summer.
