Lewis Capaldi Returns to Cardiff for Two Blackweir Live Shows
Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi is set to headline two open-air concerts at Blackweir Fields in Cardiff this week, on Tuesday, June 30 and Wednesday, July 1. The shows are part of the Blackweir Live summer series, which has already featured The Cure and Teddy Swims. Following a sell-out first night, a second date was added to meet demand from Welsh fans.
Capaldi, known for hits such as Someone You Loved, Before You Go, Bruises, and Hold Me While You Wait, returns to the stage after a break to focus on his mental health. He previously performed at Cardiff's Utilita Arena and now takes on the larger Blackweir Fields venue.
Banned Items at Blackweir Live: What You Cannot Bring
Organisers have released a comprehensive list of prohibited items for the concerts. Chairs, portable seating, foldable furniture, and inflatables are not allowed anywhere on site, including in The Garden area. Rucksacks or backpacks larger than A4 size are also banned, and all bags are subject to search. Attendees are advised to avoid bringing bags where possible to speed up entry.
Food and drink from outside are not permitted. However, those with medical conditions or specific dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, coeliac disease, diabetes) may apply in advance for permission to bring their own supplies. Supporting documentation, such as a doctor's letter or NHS app confirmation, may be required and must be shown to security along with a confirmation email. Any permitted food or drink must be kept with the attendee at all times.
Dogs are not allowed, except for assistance dogs.
Heatwave Measures: Increased Water Allowance
Due to expected hot weather, organisers have introduced extra measures. Each person may now bring two sealed 500ml bottles of water (previously one). Additional shaded areas and free water refill stations will be available across the site. Plastic refillable water bottles are permitted and can be used at these stations. Mini fans are also allowed. An enhanced welfare team will be on hand to provide support.
Food and Drink Inside the Venue
A variety of food and drink stalls will be available inside the venue. All concessions and bars are cashless, so attendees must bring alternative payment methods. Free water refill stations are provided, and each person can bring two sealed 500ml water bottles plus two empty reusable bottles.
Ticket Availability and Prices
Tickets for both nights are still available via Ticketmaster, starting from £86.95 for general admission and £118.45 for premium tickets. Resale site StubHub offers tickets from £68.40. Fans are advised to check official sources for availability.
