Staff at RWB Auctions in Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, are eager to sell an antique pram after security footage appeared to show it moving across a storeroom by itself. The video, captured at 2am on 30 August, shows a 1950s pram slowly rolling across the floor with no visible cause.
Director Jon White, 54, was alerted by the security system but found nothing when he searched the premises. Reviewing the CCTV the next day, he was perplexed to see the pram moving independently. The item, from a property in Highclere, Hampshire—near the setting of Downton Abbey—is now up for auction starting at £30.
White posted the footage on TikTok, where it has garnered nearly 200,000 views and sparked debate among paranormal enthusiasts. Some viewers have speculated that a ghost may be pushing the pram, while others suggest more mundane explanations like an invisible string. White, a self-described sceptic, admits he cannot find a rational explanation.
The auction house staff are reportedly unnerved by the incident. White said: 'After Wednesday we'd like to get it gone... The admin staff want it gone sooner rather than later. They're crapping themselves.' He added that the building itself is rumoured to be haunted, and ghost hunters have expressed interest in visiting.
The video has received over 1,200 reactions and 130 comments on TikTok, with reactions ranging from fear to curiosity. One commenter joked about not wanting to buy second-hand items, while another asked how to purchase the pram. RWB Auctions has confirmed that the footage is genuine and that they do not accept returns on auction items.
