A 19-year-old woman from California has gone viral after sharing a video that appears to show her hands passing through each other. Tori Pareno posted the clip on Twitter this week, where it has racked up 700,000 views, likes and comments from astonished viewers.
The optical illusion, known as 'magic hands', originated on TikTok. It involves straightening one hand and bending the other at a fast speed to create the illusion that one hand is moving through the other. Pareno wrote in her tweet: 'Here’s something trippy for your night lol'.
On her TikTok account, Pareno revealed that she mastered the trick on her 'first go', which impressed her followers, who praised her 'clean' and 'smooth' technique. Some users have attempted the trick with LED gloves, producing an even more striking effect.
The move has been replicated across social media by numerous teens and has been labelled 'sorcery and witchcraft' by some viewers. Many followers trying to replicate the illusion were left baffled, with one tweeting: 'I'm so mad I can't do this... yet.'
