Wireless chargers offer a convenient alternative to traditional cables, reducing wear on charging ports and eliminating the hassle of lost wires. They can charge multiple devices at once, making them ideal for desks and nightstands. However, the best choice depends on your devices and usage habits.
After testing several models with a Samsung Galaxy S24+ and iPhone 15, a standout is the Qi2 25W charger with a weighty base, metal arm, and rotating pad. It includes pads for earbuds and a watch, plus a whisper-quiet cooling fan. It charged the S24+ from 25% to full in about 2 hours 18 minutes, and Qi2 phones can reportedly reach 50% from zero in 25 minutes. Its premium design comes at a higher price.
For budget-conscious users, a cheap magnetic pad offers strong hold and a long flexible cable, but lacks a stand and has a glossy surface prone to smudges. It supports Qi2 at 15W (not 25W) and charged the S24+ in the same time, though the phone became noticeably warmer. It's a good entry-level option.
Another portable choice is a foldable Qi2 charger with three pads linked by silicone bands, folding to the size of an earbuds case. It includes a plug and travel adaptors, making it ideal for travel. However, it lacks 25W charging and silicone feet for grip.
