Our reviewer has crowned the Lumie Bodyclock Glow 150 as the best sunrise alarm clock he has ever tested, surpassing even his previous favourite. After using it daily for two weeks, he found it consistently reduced grogginess and improved alertness upon waking.
The Bodyclock Glow 150, priced at £119 (currently £106.49 at Healf), sits in the middle of Lumie's range but offers all essential features. It simulates dawn with a naturalistic colour spectrum from reddish-orange to brilliant white, with adjustable duration (20, 30, or 45 minutes), maximum brightness, and alarm tones including birdsong and lapping waves.
Lumie, which invented the sunrise alarm clock category in 1992, certifies the Glow 150 as a medical device. The clock includes a tap-to-snooze function, an auto-dimming digital display, and cable management. Its sunset simulation mode helps users wind down, though the reviewer preferred a steady low-light setting for reading.
Controls are intuitive via buttons around the display, and the device works as a reading light. The reviewer noted the Glow 150's sunrise simulation is superior to other brands and equal to Lumie's own Spark 100, with better wake-up sounds including a harsher tone for deep sleepers.
